Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect bag for landscape, adventure, wildlife and travel photography Since I bought the Pro Trekker 300 AW, worrying about the weight and protection of the gear when I go on adventure photography trips is no longer an issue whether I'm in the Sahara desert in the summer ina sandstorm or Alaska in the winter. I found these features fantastic: - lots of space inside for bodies and lenses, well padded - pull out pouch that holds the bottom of the tripod: protects the spike foot - heavy duty fabric: even spending weeks in harsh environment I have no tears, fading, rips etc on the bag. - rain cover: hidden on the bottom, nice and tight around the bag - side pockets: for water bottle, rain jacket easy access - removable waist pack with 2 pockets on the top: I use these for my LEE filters - slip lock attachment loops and D rings: you might think there are too many on the bag, but these come super handy when you have to attach a sleeping bag, fleece etc - size: carry on luggage even on cheap airlines! I would not want to check my expensive gear in so carrying on the plane with me in a bag that's allowed is one of the most important things. - padded back: I'm a female and usually have at least 1 body and 3-4 lenses with me plus accessories. While trekking I need to carry all my gear so having a comfortable shoulder and back means weight off my shoulder, literally. September 17, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by This bag just saved my $10,000 set of gear I don't usually take the time to write reviews, but this time I have to. This morning, I was checking out one of our local rivers, walking along the rocks when I slipped and fell in to a pool. I literally went in under my head. My pack was on my back and was completely submerged for 10 or 20 seconds. All my gear was inside it (luckily, I hadn't unpacked anything yet). I managed to get out of the water without injury and immediately took off my pack, feeling certain my gear would be wet. It was in fact COMPLETELY dry. This bag has a special waterproof sealed zipper which must have formed a perfect seal. I humbly trudged back to my car, literally dripping wet, past onlookers, drove home and am now drying the bag with a hairdryer. To me, if a bag saves you $10,000 worth of damages, it is worth every penny. Thanks! By the way, its also a fantastic bag in other respects, like comfort and many storage options. November 9, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love this bag!! Love the Pro Trekker 300! I've had this bag around 2.5 years now and I've already put it through its paces!! It's been to Africa 3 times, Iceland, Mexico and countless domestic trips around the US as well. I haul a lot of gear on most of my trips and the 300 crams a lot in! I travel with 3 bodies, usually pack 2 of them, one body only, the other with a 70-200 attached, then I carry the 3rd outside the case so I have a camera hand and on the flights etc to take candid shots as well. Carry a varierty of lenses, 24-105, 24-70, 18-135, 70-200 and a 300 2.8 (in its own seperate case). Also pack this bag with a GoPro, a handheld video camera, Lots of extra batteries, chargers, a NetBook for backups, Backup Hard Drives and other odds and ends for cleaning, etc Bag has held up extremely well, its a beast to carry with all my gear, but with the waist strap and shoulders adjusted properly, its pretty comfortable and I've hauled it on some pretty long treks. Rated 4 out of 5 by Great for gear but needs more Backpacker design work I love the pack in general. For my gear it is great. I am now finding it too small as I want it to expand to a packing/camera pack for 2-3 day hikes. Don't get me wrong, it is quite big! Too small for me I mean! Gear compartment and versatility are great. I think one tripod compartment and one mono-pod are sufficient though. Gear protection is perfect. A more secure pocket for the computer would be good as I walk through busy Asian streets and I have to make sure the PC is in the main case when walking for security reasons. My only real issues with the pack pertain to fit. The waist strap holds the pack in place during fast movement but there is little to know level of comfort provided by it. I'd like to see the pack sit higher on the shoulders and be able to be supported by the waist as in an mountain or packer pack design based on the amount of weight it is intended to carry. A thicker padded strap would be nice as well but not required. A chest strap is required for a good pack which this does have in a perfect location. I like the pack and would recommend it for carrying all your gear to go out for a shoot but not a hike. I have tried all the adjustments in the back and wait and can not get it to sit just right. I also often carry the pack on my mountain bike through daily traffic in Shanghai. I will say it's fit though not great for hiking works well for biking. February 9, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by All rounder I am frequently travelling for business and always take all my gear with me wherever I go. The Pro Trekker 300 AW fits all my gear and it is durable, comfortable and with a 2L hydration pack I am ready to go anywhere for a full day. This is the only bag except for my wheeler with clothes. Everything is thought through and it fits perfectly in the overhead bins of all airlines. The only caution is not to overload this bag for walk-on luggage. The best and only bag one needs. Rated 5 out of 5 by Very good! Works very good when I carry wide angle, macro-, and small telephoto lenses. The tripod attachment system works very good when walking in forest and rainforests. The low tripod attachment prevent the tripod to to touch branches above my head, and I can move more silently through the forest. September 19, 2013

I travel extensively and need a new bag but I must have one that will fit in the overhead in both domestic and international flights. I need to be sure before I buy.

Answer:
Carry-on requirements are subject to change and vary by airline and country. We recommend that you check with your airline for current size and weight restrictions.

The airline must allow bags with external dimensions of:

39 x 36 x 47 cm (15.35 x 14.17 x 18.50 in)

or 48.1 linear inches.

Is it possible to buy accessories for the camera bag online?

I have a Lowepro Pro Trekker 300 backpack. I wanted to buy the hydration bottle and the Pack Jack tool and was unable to find it on the Lowepro online store.

Can you please direct me to where I can buy it online or somewhere in store?

Answer:
Hello,

The Pack Jack tool actually comes with the Pro Trekker 300 and is not sold separately. You can find it stored behind the back pad panel. We do not sell hydration bottles, but most 2L bottles (from companies such as CamelBak), will fit inside this bag.

Belt / waist parts

Hi,

Unluckily, just lost my belt of this bag. Just wondering is it possible to buy another belt or any other alternative choice to play the role as the belt. (the belt part looks quite similar as your "S&F Deluxe Technical Belt") Thank you very much.
