LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!! One MINOR flaw - the backpack when packed full off gear is some times a little tight to zip up and a few of the "Draw Cords" on the zippers pulled out. I overcame this with shoe laces run through the zipper back - NO PROBLEMS SINCE! LOVE LOVE LOVE! By doubling up the shoe laces as required I was able to keep the loop short and padlock the zippers together for Airline / Train / Coach travel minimising the risk of accidentally opening! This is my SECOND such bag and i hope LOWEPRO continue their FOCUS on DURABILITY and RELIABILITY and FUNCTIONALITY! They will get MANY new and returning customers! DryZone200 si my next purchase and NOT looking anywhere else!Date published: 2014-05-19Rated 5 out of 5 by MWheeler from Fantastic Product Very nice quality made product. Don't do much back packing, but it will offer high quality protection to my camera equipment. Lots of pockets and storage, more than I probably will ever need or use. Very comfortable to wear no pulling or straining.Date published: 2014-07-13Rated 5 out of 5 by Richard69 from Exclusively for hiking outdoor The Backpack was acquired a year and a half ago. Exclusively for hiking out. But it was relatively few. Cave in Central Russia and Altai Mountains (Siberia). Because of the excellent capacity and a high level of protection, the backpack was used as a transportation option to visit with me in Vietnam and Iceland. Profits. The volume is large, but the empty weight is minimum. Many variations of the external suspension and photographic equipment, and hiking equipment. On Top, bottom, sides, on the waist belt! Excellent settings for a shape. For multi-day hiking gear is very important! Four standard tripod mount! Why so much? I do not know, but fun! Tremendous capacity. Average weight with the technique of 18-20 kg. Backpack plus external linkage twice turned out to 28 kg. Weatherproof cover in the mountains has been used many times. Removable laptop cover using consistently in many different combinations. And with a backpack, and much more often without it. Backpack large enough. But backpack is well placed in the luggage racks on planes. Advantages of symmetrical to cons. Any backpack is very convenient to carry and very inconvenient for quickly access.Date published: 2013-09-17Rated 5 out of 5 by Papps from Amazing bag I ordered it from the U.S.A. because at that time you couldn't find it in my country (Croatia). So I was one of the first or maybe even the first to have it here. What to say about the bag...than just "wow" !!! It has passed all my expectations. I bought it for my 3 months photo travel in India...90 days,8000 km (aprox. 5000 miles) by airplane, low cost trains, busses, taxi, riksha, boat, hiking through Indian subtropical to desert climate up to rainy north,dust,sand,sea,salt,water,rain,mud...fully equipped with 15 kilos of photo equipment plus some extra gear, some extra pouches and 2L water bladder...total 20 kilos (aprox. 45 pounds)...and the bag resisted it all plus keeping safe all my gear. I just had an fabric joint unstitched on the shoulder strap after months of hard use, but I stitched it back togheder and it was like new.I used also the top cover as the waistpack for my second camera (body + wide angle lens). One camera on the shoulder and the other in the waistpack an you are ready for some double camera action. Even if it looks big I had no problems at all on airplanes or check ins. Another great thing is that it doesn't scream photo bag. As a longtime user of lowepro (stealth reporter 200 AW, vertex 300 AW, inverse 200 AW) and lowealpine (stingray), I can tell you that this bag has all the benefits of them all. Very comfortable and adaptable to your body with a lot of customization. Once on your back and hips, you don't feel it at all, it just follows your movements. What to say more...if you want a great bag that can come with you on your adventures...the pro trekker bags are the best choice, after 4 years of using this bag I can prove it! Darko PapDate published: 2013-09-15Rated 5 out of 5 by Shutterbug from Don't buy this bag if you are a suburban happy snapper, this bag is tough Pro Trekker 400 AW is rugged, I would not be surprised if it got rust, and as we say in Australia, you can't kill it with a big stick. The customizable compartments can quickly be changed, they give fantastic protection for all that expensive and fragile gear, this includes rain and dust. I have had it through North Queensland up to the "Top (Cape York Peninsula), even dropped it and me (by accident) into a creek. My wallet drowned but not my Nikon & lenses. My recommendation, buy this bag if you are serious about owning a practical yet easy to use bag that not only looks the part but is all it says it is! Love it - but not as much as my Nikon SLR !!!Date published: 2013-11-27Rated 5 out of 5 by sebbo86 from Top notch bag - for home and abroad - wildlife photographers dream!! Purchased this bag to fit my Wildlife gear in, easily takes 2 bodies, Nikon 200-400, wide angle and fisheye lenses with accessories. The top compartments are perfect for putting snacks in and the side pockets with memory card slots are ideal for quick access. The bag carries well over 30kg when I have all my gear, yet feels like a feather when carrying it all, the supports are fantastic. All in all, its a perfect piece of equipment that Id be lost without now. It is also ok for hand luggage, Ive flown with it to photograph tigers in india and its been on safari dozens of times.... Buy it!!!!Date published: 2013-09-18Rated 5 out of 5 by allen from comfort and design The Pro Trekker 400 AW is the best camera pack I have owned. My Lowepro Dry Zone 200 died 10 years with numerous international trips to remote locations. It served me well but I was looking for a pack with more volume. I have not traveled internationally yet with the Pro Trekker 400 but the hikes I have done with it have proved it was an excellent choice. There is plenty of room for all my gear (DSLR body (2), 4 lenses up to 200mm, flash, and accessories. Fully loaded with gear and water it is comfortable for an all day hike. The pack is built and has the feel more like a camping pack than a camera bag. My only concern is that it will hold more weight than I want to carry.Date published: 2014-01-06
