Reviews
Rated 4.9 out of 5 by 7 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Outstanding Gear The search for top quality all purpose travel gear that can protect my cameras and laptop ends with this Lowepro backpack. It offers prime time durability and protection. Not only is this bag a workhorse, it offers several customizable solutions for storage of my gear. The camera compartment measures in at 10.24" x 5.51" x 9.65" and easily accommodates my DSLR. I had my worries about storage space for my 15" laptop. The top loading laptop compartment provides just the right amount of real estate at 11.42" x 1.38" x 15.75". The roomy front compartment measures 6.69" x .079" x 9.25". Exterior dimensions are 12.99" x 9.84" x 18.70". Empty weight is just under four pounds. I was able to carry two extra lenses not including my camera mounted one, accessories and my laptop with no storage nightmares. The padded dividers are first rate and allow for easy customization. The quality of the exterior nylon black body is great. Unlike many knockoffs out there, the stitching job is superb. The zippers are first rate. The side entry pocket is sweet. With a quick rotation I've got my hands on my camera gear. I like the removable utility pouch. I primarily use it for storing cables and anything else that happens to find its way in there. Lowepro's signature hide away, all weather cover is still one of the best. It does a great job of keeping my gear dry and stores back into its compartment without complications. The padding on the nylon shoulder straps is very comfortable. The foldout tripod holder and strap are definitely a welcome addition. I'm not a big fan of any backpack waist belt system but this one is better then most. The gusseted side pocket is alright for temporary storage but nothing more. A more secure option would have been better. The carry handle has a great feel. The overall quality and versatility of this bag speaks for itself. Its not just a bag for DSLR cameras by any means. It easily accommodates my laptop, tablet, and host of other items. For air travel, I found out first hand that its the perfect carry on. When on board the plane I had zero problems with under the seat storage. With a limited lifetime warranty this Lowepro bag is definitely built to last. I highly recommend it. September 16, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by The TARDIS of photography backpacks! I purchased my very first Lowepro, the DSLR Video Fastpack 250 AW, back in December of 2012 and have been in love with it since. I am an avid traveller, and with the limit of carry-on bags allowed on flights, I was usually okay throwing my point-and-shoot into my regular backpack... until I got my first DSLR. I then had to think of everything I would now be bringing on trips: tripod, laptop, cables, camera(s), lenses, etc. Usually, I was able to throw everything I needed into my backpack, but now I required something that would not just be a general photography backpack, but also a great travel bag that would be more of a "two for one" kind of deal. This is that bag. I'm able to carry my DSLR, 3-4 lenses, compact cameras, flash, filters, lens hood, media players, laptop, tablet, large headphones, cables, tripod and/or monopod, and all sorts of things like snacks, drinks, and books in this bag. At first I thought it was too small when I looked at it in the store, but then I put my gear in and found I had a lot of room left! It's like the TARDIS of backpacks; it's bigger on the inside! You can put so much more in this bag than originally expected, and then go all over the world! It's perfect for my lifestyle - whether it be on a job or just general travel - and I couldn't be happier with this purchase. I don't need my old backpack since the top half can be for anything you'd like. It even comes with a small cable pouch, which I also use for CF cards, remotes, and other small items; it helps keep them separated and safe. I can also access the side flap quickly to get my DSLR out if I see something I want to capture, and then place my camera back in safely without opening up the bottom camera compartment completely. The DSLR Fastpack 250 AW supports all of the gear very well, and I've walked around all day with a full load and was pretty comfortable. When my black 13" laptop is in the backpack, it gets a little stiff, but otherwise it is comfortable the rest of the time. The weatherproof cover is of great help as well, and long days on hikes allows me to pack refreshments easily in the top compartment. The tripod/monopod holder on the side is a huge help not only for hiking, but for easy use and carrying onto flights. The whole reason I stumbled upon this bag was because I'd asked the employee for "a backpack that has a laptop slot, tripod holder, room for general storage, and one that I can use for air travel." This bag nailed everything I needed. I really can't find much that I don't like about this bag. I'm able to bring what I need, and it's been great for when I need a place to store spontaneous gift shop purchases when I'm travelling! It's been on countless flights, through the thick wilderness, banged, dropped, caught in downpours, and goodness knows what else. This bag is so durable, and my gear has never been compromised. It does exactly as it should; protect your gear from the unexpected in style! It's definitely an all-around wonderful product, and I have recommended it to many people. Awesome bag! October 2, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by It's a great product, but could be better I can carry all my gear, but when I have to carry the tripod it lost versatility and most of the times is better to carry it separated. I like the size of the bag and is nice when i have to travel or go for a job. September 17, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by If you have only one camera bag - This is a great choice Excellent all around bag. Comfortable in the city, traveling (carry-on compatible) or for casual hikes and day use. This bag was made for a proDSLR with 70-200mm attached plus 2 other lenses and a flash. This works great for me as the 70-200 is my default lens. I love the side access to the camera compartment as it makes this backpack almost as fast to get your gear as with a Sling Bag. My only gripe is that if you switch lenses in the field, you'll probably want to switch back to the 70-200 for stowage in the main compartment (or put the 70-200 in a lens case in the top). The 350 does have a more gear space, but I find I can can load up the 250 with more than enough gear that I wished I left some glass weight behind. The top pocket has a reasonable amount of room for misc. goods. You can comfortably carry a medium tripod. I don't use the Laptop compartment as much because my fat old brick of a laptop is a bit too bulky to be comfortable there (newer Netbooks fit great). I do use the computer compartment for flat paper storage and some collapsible reflectors fit well in there. September 4, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by This product is highly recomended. For those of you who seek a non conspicuous bag for Urban Photography or street Photography for that matter, this bag is an excellent choice. This bag is very comfortable and accessible. You can pull out your camera without event take the bag of your bag. It is great if you need a fast access to your gear. The upper pocket for personal use is in the perfect size. The camera compartment is very well build and will protect the gear. the bags also come with weather protection. Do not ever buy a camera bag without that feature. Although this bag is improvement of a previous bag (The fast pack series), I think that it was wrong not to add the frontal pocket on the camera compartment. it was a great place to keep a small notebook MP3 player or whatever small thing you can think off. Rated 4 out of 5 by First backpack camera bag I upgraded to a new camera and I needed something to hold it all. I wanted to go to a backpack instead of a bag and it was a great choice. This bag fits all my equipment. It also fits my iPad which I use with the camera via eye-fi. I carry two lenses, a flash, my camera and lens manuals, battery charger, extra battery, rocket blower and small cleaning kit, a couple filters and my wireless shutter. It also carries my monopod on the side and there is also a rain cover that pulls out of the bottom if you ever get caught in a shower. This beats carrying a bag! The shoulder straps are comfortable. I like having everything with me in case I need it. September 25, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Backpack for film makers I have this backpack since 2009 and I'm very happy with this backpack. It helps me taking photos because I don't have to care about stuff carried secure in pigeonholes and when it rains I use AW Cover and I'm not worried about equipment. I'm taking photos in very diffrent situations, from parties through the weddings to off-road races and DSLR Video Fastpack are very helpfull in organising my photographic stuff. I strongly recommend it for everyone who takes 2-3 lenses and flashgun everyday ;) September 15, 2013

Hello,

Yes, the top compartment is large enough to hold some spare clothes. Some photographers will even use any unused space in the camera compartment to stuff spare clothes as well if they need the space.

Can I fully change the arrangement of the padded dividers?

I need a camera backpack for a small câmera, a small video camera, some gear, and a notebook. I need a lot of small sections.

Can I fully re-arrange the padded dividers so I can use my small cannon G16 + Sony HXR (instead of a big DSLR).
