Pro Runner RL x450 AW II is rated out of 5 by 9.Rated 4 out of 5 by Fotonutzz from Almost the Perfect Bag Got the Pro-Runner X450 AW II just now and was slightly disappointed that it is not able to fit my gear. Despite being touted as the largest bag in the Pro-Runner series, I can only fit in 5 lenses & 1 body in the main compartment. Although the bag is able to accommodate all the lenses and body, there is no room for the flash. Even the product photos used by Lowepro omitted the flash. When placing the camera body with a lens mounted in the center of the bag (as depicted in the photos), one obvious shortcoming was that the center of the bag is too shallow because of the telescopic handle. The sides are sufficiently deep and I have no problems putting a D3 or 24-70/F2.8 vertically. However, the center portion of the bag is not so accommodating as the space is taken by the telescopic handle and we cannot really adjust the thick padding. I tried to shift the padding downwards towards the base of the bag where the cable/accessories pouch is. However, the recess for the wheels are preventing me from shifting the padding downwards unless I cut and trim the padding. For such an expensive bag, I don't think I will bear to do so unless I've used this bag a couple more years. Although the base is not completely flat, having one telescopic handle bar is better than two.........Still, if you look at the attached photos, you can see the camera's pentaprism protrudes out by an inch. Ideally, you can only mount a non-gripped body in the centre. Even though the X450 comes with a backpack strap, I wasn't able to try it out when my gear was fully laden as it is too heavy to swing it to my back. Don't think I will last 5 mins with the fully laden X450 on my back. However, it all depends on how heavy your gear are. Pros with F2.8 will probably want to take note that it gets quite heavy as this bag doesn't seem to have a load adjustment strap as compared to other models. Now that I have gotten that out of the way, let's talk about what I like about the bag. The wheels are very smooth even when the camera bag is fully laden. So, dragging the bag across the pavement is not a problem. I also like the fact that Lowepro included slip-loc mounting points on the bag, At least I'm able to attach the Utility Bag 100AW onto the bag. I was really hoping that this bag would replace all my existing bags (I've more than 8 camera bags from Lowepro), but alas, there is no one bag that can rule them all...... I just hope Lowepro will come up with some thinner internal padding which we can buy to replace the thicker inner padding. At least it will clear up more space for lenses and other accessories. To wrap it up, I would say this bag suits my needs more than others and I hope it will stay in my collection for many years.Date published: 2015-07-09Rated 5 out of 5 by JoJOandherlightsgoGO from The perfect bag for the photographer who does everything This bag is perfect for the photographer on the go - sometimes I'm hauling so much gear I have to sling my camera bag on my back so I can use my hands to pull the light bag. On those days where I'm shooting smaller, I'm able to wheel about and give my back a break. There's plenty of room to carry a few lenses and/or some portable speed lights and the cell phone pocket and key area is just plain genius.Date published: 2017-05-02Rated 4 out of 5 by suskain from Plenty of room for Camera Body and Extra Lenses After much research, I purchased this camera bag a couple of months ago for an upcoming trip to Yellowstone National Park. I will be flying, so limited on what I can take on board the plane. This bag will hold my Nikon D810 camera, 80-400mm lens and several other lenses along with my laptop. Best of all, I can roll it or use it as a backpack.Date published: 2017-05-06Rated 5 out of 5 by Karla from Perfect travel companion This bag has fortuitously turned out to be one of my best purchases ever! Before purchasing this bag about 6 years ago, the only way I could get my underwater housing (including a dome port) along with my camera and lenses into one place was in a massive Pelican case weighing in at about 24 kgs, which left me with a hefty excess baggage charge if I was flying with much more than a bikini! It also leaves my hands free for other luggage, which usually includes heavy dive gear, so it’s a dream for international travel. Because some airlines have restrictions on the weight of hand luggage, I sometimes have to split out my laptop and pack strobes and flashes into my checked luggage. However, once I get to my location and can abandon my other luggage, it is really simple to convert from a backpack (which is still comfortable at 22kgs) to roller case, even over more rugged terrain. It has certainly proved durable, but if I ever need to replace it I certainly know what to get.Date published: 2017-05-05Rated 5 out of 5 by Danielangulo from I have had it for years. I bought this bag probably 7 years ago (the first version) and it is still going strong, my number one choice, strong, secure, durable, easy to handle, you can make it a backpack or roller case, it is also carry on compatible, fits everything you need, even laptop and tablet. I love it.Date published: 2017-02-02Rated 5 out of 5 by travelling photopro from Great bag for all round travel This bag has been fantastic to get to and from location shoots. Its perfect for airports with the comfortable handles and smooth wheels and for using as a backpack over rugged terrainDate published: 2017-05-02Rated 5 out of 5 by Josh Bernard from Fantastic bag if you have a lot of gear! I've had this bag for about 2 years now. It has gone with me around the world multiple times and I've put it through the tests. Gear List : ALL CANON; 1Dx, 5D Miii, 70-200 f2.8, 2x Tele Conv., 1.4x Tele Conv., 85mm 1.2, 24-70mm f2.8, 17-40mm f4, 15mm fisheye. Fits all this gear, including flash, batteries, film for random other cameras, cables, plug adapters, and everything else you need. The storable backpack straps are amazing when you use it as a roller, and when you need to wear the 45lbs bag on your back the straps are actually a quality padded strap. Cool standard features include: Lockable zippers which came in handy last week flying home from a trip through Dubai. There was recently a travel ban on electronics on flights from Dubai to the US, I've never checked my cameras, but I had to and it was nice having the zippers with a reinforced lock loop on them. Bag comes with a rainfly which also came in handy while I was shooting from a boat in the Maldives as a rain storm brewed up from nowhere. Overall fantastic product and I would recommend it to anyone looking to move some gear easily.Date published: 2017-05-03Rated 3 out of 5 by Merrick from Good but way too small I was a huge fan of these bags until the sizes were reduced. Perhaps there should be a bigger version for more local use. The airline travelling photographer can go with this one.Date published: 2017-01-14
