Reviews
SlingShot 102 AW (Black) is rated 4.4706 out of 5 by 17.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't Live Without It! Incredibly comfortable, great bag for those long days when you're trekking around and shooting. Versatile and well-organized, it's so easy to grab just what you need in mere seconds. I'd recommend this for everyone, from the pro nature photographer, to the mom with fast-moving kids, from the photojournalist, to the event photographer. I will say that you will probably need the next size or two up if you tend to bring more than a couple lenses, or if you use particularly long ones. It does, however, fit my standard kit of a DSLR with an 18-200mm zoom lens attached, along with a 50mm prime lens and a flash head on the sides quite comfortably.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT FUNCTIONALITY & INDESTRUCTABLE This Sling Shot 102 AW is perfect for carrying most of my gear but what has really amazed me is its seemingly indestructible nature. I've put this bag through very heavy use for the past four years shooting on average 1200 images per month. The bag has been subject to the mountains, beaches, dirt roads and concrete while carrying my camera plus up to four lenses and still looks like new. The fabric is still in flawless condition, the zippers work like new and its fabric has also held its shape. My shooting partner carries the slightly smaller Sling Shot 100 AW and her bag has held up equally well. . These bags are REALLY well made.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very uncomfortable on the back. I bought this bag with my first DSLR as I thought it would be good to have quick access to my camera. It did perform well in that regard BUT it was so uncomfortable that I was in pain e dry time I had to carry it for longer than a few minutes. I kept the bag for 2 years figuring I paid all that money so " suck it up" and just use it. I finally found a proper backpack. This bag just didn't fit my shape and size. Try it before you buy it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fits two cameras and my gear This bag fits my Nikon 3200 and 18-55 lens attached, plus a 55-200 lens. I also carry a Canon T3 with an 18-55 lens attached. I put both battery chargers, the cords, and a lens cleaning pen in the small pockets. I still have room. It has a weather shield and a place for my tripod. This bag slings over the shoulder fast for great shots. When I am in a hurry to to take pictures out of the front or back doors, I just grab the top loop and my gear is ready in seconds. If I am leaving the house, I just add the tripod and the bag slings over my shoulder for an easy carry. I looked at a lot of bags, but this bag was the one that was perfect for me! Thank you for such a great product that fits my cameras, my gear and my lifestyle!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Sling Bag, Wished it came in more colors. This is a comfortable bag with good weight distribution. The seams are nicely reinforced. It will hold a DSLR camera with two extra lenses. and other misc. gear. In addition, easy access to a external gorilla pod. Upper storage will fit a pair of 10x42mm binoculars, some granola bars, and a smart phone. Plenty of hard points to connect a water bottle carabiner and a GPS unit. I bought this for a Alaska trip and a African safari. From what I can tell it will do the job nicely. My only grief with it is that it doesn't come in any earth tone colors. If it came in a olive or tan, it would be five star.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice entry level slingshot bag My employer gave me this as a wedding gift in 2008. I brought this with me during my honeymoon trip. It was around the Easter holiday. I carried it for day trips in various cities - London, Paris, Nice, Monte Carlo, Rome, Zurich, Berlin and Bern...etc. It rained, snowed and we also had some beautiful days too. My Nikon D40x remained dried the whole time. I used this bag for about 4 years and took a lot of good shots when it snowed. I like the slingshot design and the rain cover. I like the little pockets that I can put the passports, cards and some papers. I hardly used the lens compartments. After four years of using the bag, I had no problems with it. I sold it at a fairly good second hand value. I now just carried my Nikon camera on my shoulders whatever the weather conditions (less hassle).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little bag I have had the bag for several months and it goes almost everywhere I go. It can swallow a lot of gear for its size and has some great add-on capabilities. I don't think Lowepro adequately explains the Sliplock system but if you look it up you will find how it works and how easy it is to add lens cases onto the bag when and as needed to increase carrying capacity. The only unfortunate part is that with large lens cases its either or as it covers the tripod carrier pouch and loop. Still, the bag can swallow up enough gear for an outing quite easily and access while standing is quick and easy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from SlingShot Pro AW102 This is an Awesome Walk Around Day Bag. I held up well with my Nikon D300S, Nikkor 50mm, Sigma 18-200mm, 5-6 SDHC cards, 1 Compact Flash Card. Also had enough space for my Gary Fong Collapsible Lightsphere, a Nikon SB-800 speedlight, an extra Nikon Camera Battery, the charger unit and the power cable. I love my Bag, so much I am ordering a Fastpack 350, because I need to extra space to carry my 10inch tablet. The "AW" shield came in handy when I was caught in the rain.

Is the SlingShot 102 bigger than the SlingShot 100?

Need a bag slightly bigger than SlingShot 100 to fit Canon with 28-135mm lens. The SlingShot 202 is too big for me.
Asked by: Aksyuan
Here are the external dimension of the two bags: Slingshot 100: 20.57 x 17.02 x 39.88cm (8.1 x 6.7 x 15.7) Slingshot 102: 21 x 22 x 40.5 cm (8.27 x 8.66 x 15.94 in) If the Slingshot 102 is too big, you can also take a look at the Transit Sling 150 23.5 x 17 x 37 cm (9.25 x 6.69 x 14.57 in) http://store.lowepro.com/transit-sling-150-aw

Size does not agree with bag finder?

In bag finder I entered Canon 600D with 18-55 zoom, plus medium lens 3.5" x 5.5", plus medium flash. 102 AW was recommended but the internal dimension of 4.33" does not give enough room for a 5.5" lens or a flash of height 4.8", at least in the configuration shown. Mike Kenefeck
