Reviews
Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 9 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by The perfect DSLR backpack I own this backpack since its launch. I've did a lot of research before buying. My previous backpack was the Fastpack 250 and although a great one, it fit less then I needed. Shockingly, the Transit 350 has the same size, but is lighter by a pound and fits at least 20% more! The rearrange system helps for this. There are several small touches which make my life easier: 1) the waist straps can be tucked inside the back and kept out of the way 2) the chest strap can be removed if not used 3) the tripod holder is well thought and of course can be tucked in when not in use to keep things simple design-wise. 4) I like the inner red colour of the laptop compartment and small front pocket on the top. It makes finding things easier compared to a black colour pockets. Some other thoughts - the backpack is made really well and it supports without problems gear of 10 kg (~20lbs) and higher. If you use it to draw the camera out of the side pocket, it fits 1 body with grip + 4 lenses/flashes + laptop. When used from the top, it can fit a body + grip + 70-200 2.8 + 2x Extender attached; + 3 more lenses on the side in the main compartment + maybe more if you get creative about rearranging the modules. The laptop compartment fits a Retina MacBook Pro 13", so it is also perfect for Air and iPads/other tablets. Probably thick Windows Laptops with 13/15" and higher won't fit. Few minor negatives: 1) in the summer when it is heavy it gets a little sweaty and it leaves some marks on the back when carried for several hours. The lighter colour makes this more pronounced. 2) I don't think this is the perfect city/street photography backpack. Its size is somewhat bulky and if you carry a tripod on the side doesn't help to camouflage you at all. It is more of an all type scenario backpack and it does the job pretty well. In the end, I don't think there is a better backpack on the market than the Lowepro Transit 350. Certainly a 5-star product and well deserved the price! December 8, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Perfect for the on-the-go-shooters. I recently just purchased this bag - as I needed more space for camera gear... I am an outdoor photographer so I didn't want something too big or that was hard to get into.. This bag is very comfortable to wear. And fits all my gear (7D with grip and Sigma 150-500mm) perfectly with room for extra lenses. Only wish that it came in more colours.... September 17, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Does not fit my laptop. Picked up this bag when I was in Calgary and brought it back with me to Winnipeg where I found out it does not actually fit my 15" ASUS laptop. Great space for my camera, love the easy access side-pouch and the separated storage compartment on the top, but I am pretty annoyed about the laptop pouch. There is absolutely no way to make it fit. It seems like pretty poor quality control to not have checked that it would have fit more than just a macbook. If you are looking to buy this bag, measure the entire laptop from corner to corner first to make sure. Laptops are sold by screen size, so most 15" laptops are actually around 15.6". This bag was not designed with that in mind. Very sad about this, because everything else about this bag is great. Would recommend this for a tablet or a smaller laptop, but NOT a 15". Rated 5 out of 5 by Great product for photo gear and normal everyday gear! I love this backpack! I am a newbie photographer who is on a budget. This works great for school, and on the weekends when I go on my shoots. The backpack is easy to setup, and very comfortable for small hikes(after a while it gets a little uncomfortable from lack of airflow). The rain cover fits perfectly and is quick to put on. It also fits my travel tripod very well. Thank you Lowepro for making a great product! November 7, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by I love this camera case. It is a well designed backpack and camera case. This backpack has so many features that I love. It's roomy, easy to access, and has lots of compartments The rain gear feature really comes in handy. It's comfortable to wear and light weight. Overall it is a great investment. November 2, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Well thought for quick access and maximum load distribution I have always wanted a bag that distributes the weight of my gears well, and at the same time be able to access them quickly. Transit 350AW is such a bag. The quick access pocket allows to easy reach into the gear compartment. The trade off is security compared to say, Flipside. There are areas of improvement, example I feel there are wasted space in the area designed to hold the camera body - it is way too big, as well as the depth of the bag actually allows for 2 lens instead of 1. Rated 3 out of 5 by I'm not satisfied as I wished! Sorry! I bought a Transit Backpack 350 AW bag from the local dealer "zaro". After three months constantly using it, not always carrying photografic equipment but just only my wallet, my cell phone, my tablet and some documents, the lefthand belt plastic regulator broke for undefined reason while I was trying getting it on. I got it back to the dealer who tried to help in fact. He perceived, the inside cloth of this belt was also damaged, torn, probably because of the friction with my clothing. In a week time he called me back, informing me, this spare part was immediately available only in black colour and if I wished in gray colour I should have to wait longer to be ordered in China. So the bag is repaired with the black one which is not exactly the same as the original (a bit bigger) and I was charged €5,00 for the whole mending but the spare part which is the only free to charge. I suggest, this product is not well tested how able it is to carry the full weight of the bag and equipment (approximately 7-10kgrs/15-22lbs) specifically when it is hanged on your left shoulder as you get the camera out from the side pocket and while you work this way (as it is shown on advertising video clip, besides). I did it many times in this three months period. I 'm shocked, I didn't expect such response of a product of this price and of a brand of such reputation. I'm not satisfied as I wished! Sorry! Rated 5 out of 5 by This product is light weight, comfortable, and can be configured easily. This backpack is light weight and very comfortable, It can be easily configured to fit different camera bodies and lenses. The padded shoulder pads are comfortable and wearing the backpack actually helps your posture throughout the day. I have carried both compact tripods and taller ones very comfortably throughout the day with no problems. I wish it had at least one more mesh pocket inside and a mesh pocket on the bottom for carrying a water bottle. March 26, 2014

What length tripod can you fit in the side compartment?

My partner already has a tripod, though I'm not sure you'd call it compact - which the spec states it fits. I'd like to know the max length a tripod can be to comfortably fit in the designated compartment. I'd hate to buy this and then find his tripod is too long.

Answer:
The height of the Transit Backpack 350 is 18.50 in. You would be safe if your tripod collapses to approx. this size.

See attached image for an example of how a larger sized tripod fits.

I saw this bag, and i really like it, but the only problem is that there are barely any dividers. Unlike the Vertex 100 AW, the space isnt used very well, but i do like the easy acces idea. Is there a bag that is sort of a combination of these two bags? In this bag it looks like u can only have 2-4 lenses, but could fit about 6 (small ones), just they wouldnt be very protected. I would like the layout to be almost the exact same as the Vertex 100 AW, just in this bag with the easy acces. thanks! :)

Answer:
The images shown don't have all the dividers that come with the product. You can see the default configuration the product is shipped with at the how to video attached. There are two larger dividers and 4 smaller dividers.
