Transit Backpack 350 AW (Slate Grey) is rated out of 5 by 14.Rated 5 out of 5 by StefanTotev from The perfect DSLR backpack I own this backpack since its launch. I've did a lot of research before buying. My previous backpack was the Fastpack 250 and although a great one, it fit less then I needed. Shockingly, the Transit 350 has the same size, but is lighter by a pound and fits at least 20% more! The rearrange system helps for this. There are several small touches which make my life easier: 1) the waist straps can be tucked inside the back and kept out of the way 2) the chest strap can be removed if not used 3) the tripod holder is well thought and of course can be tucked in when not in use to keep things simple design-wise. 4) I like the inner red colour of the laptop compartment and small front pocket on the top. It makes finding things easier compared to a black colour pockets. Some other thoughts - the backpack is made really well and it supports without problems gear of 10 kg (~20lbs) and higher. If you use it to draw the camera out of the side pocket, it fits 1 body with grip + 4 lenses/flashes + laptop. When used from the top, it can fit a body + grip + 70-200 2.8 + 2x Extender attached; + 3 more lenses on the side in the main compartment + maybe more if you get creative about rearranging the modules. The laptop compartment fits a Retina MacBook Pro 13", so it is also perfect for Air and iPads/other tablets. Probably thick Windows Laptops with 13/15" and higher won't fit. Few minor negatives: 1) in the summer when it is heavy it gets a little sweaty and it leaves some marks on the back when carried for several hours. The lighter colour makes this more pronounced. 2) I don't think this is the perfect city/street photography backpack. Its size is somewhat bulky and if you carry a tripod on the side doesn't help to camouflage you at all. It is more of an all type scenario backpack and it does the job pretty well. In the end, I don't think there is a better backpack on the market than the Lowepro Transit 350. Certainly a 5-star product and well deserved the price!Date published: 2013-12-08Rated 5 out of 5 by Apple429 from Great product for photo gear and normal everyday gear! I love this backpack! I am a newbie photographer who is on a budget. This works great for school, and on the weekends when I go on my shoots. The backpack is easy to setup, and very comfortable for small hikes(after a while it gets a little uncomfortable from lack of airflow). The rain cover fits perfectly and is quick to put on. It also fits my travel tripod very well. Thank you Lowepro for making a great product!Date published: 2013-11-08Rated 2 out of 5 by vincent_vega from Good but defective One year ago I bought a photo backpack Lowepro Transit Backpack 350 AW. I have used it very carefully, but unfortunately I got issue with a left strap. Before that I used Lowepro Fastpack 250 more than five years . It did not have such problems.Date published: 2016-02-15Rated 4 out of 5 by Benelli from Perfect for the on-the-go-shooters. I recently just purchased this bag - as I needed more space for camera gear... I am an outdoor photographer so I didn't want something too big or that was hard to get into.. This bag is very comfortable to wear. And fits all my gear (7D with grip and Sigma 150-500mm) perfectly with room for extra lenses. Only wish that it came in more colours....Date published: 2013-09-17Rated 5 out of 5 by wizard from Holds a lot but not too big Bought it a year and a half ago for family and day trips. I have been looking for a long time for a bag that is comfortable, not very big and that can hold a pro DSLR with a few lenses. this bag is just it! i can fit in a pro DSLR (1D or 5D with grip) +70-200/2.8 attached and a couple of other lenses + flash. it also has the place to hold your laptop if you want. the truth is that with a laptop it becomes pretty heavy and I never use it for walking trips with a laptop. so, how comfortable is it? lets say that if we have two bags my wife will always want to carry the camera bag....even though it is heavier. that's the most comfortable bag I own or owned, and it fits me like a glove!Date published: 2015-10-27Rated 3 out of 5 by DNorth from Does not fit my laptop. Picked up this bag when I was in Calgary and brought it back with me to Winnipeg where I found out it does not actually fit my 15" ASUS laptop. Great space for my camera, love the easy access side-pouch and the separated storage compartment on the top, but I am pretty annoyed about the laptop pouch. There is absolutely no way to make it fit. It seems like pretty poor quality control to not have checked that it would have fit more than just a macbook. If you are looking to buy this bag, measure the entire laptop from corner to corner first to make sure. Laptops are sold by screen size, so most 15" laptops are actually around 15.6". This bag was not designed with that in mind. Very sad about this, because everything else about this bag is great. Would recommend this for a tablet or a smaller laptop, but NOT a 15".Date published: 2013-10-23Rated 5 out of 5 by CrossCountry from This product is light weight, comfortable, and can be configured easily. This backpack is light weight and very comfortable, It can be easily configured to fit different camera bodies and lenses. The padded shoulder pads are comfortable and wearing the backpack actually helps your posture throughout the day. I have carried both compact tripods and taller ones very comfortably throughout the day with no problems. I wish it had at least one more mesh pocket inside and a mesh pocket on the bottom for carrying a water bottle.Date published: 2014-03-27Rated 5 out of 5 by EMLEE from Well thought for quick access and maximum load distribution I have always wanted a bag that distributes the weight of my gears well, and at the same time be able to access them quickly. Transit 350AW is such a bag. The quick access pocket allows to easy reach into the gear compartment. The trade off is security compared to say, Flipside. There are areas of improvement, example I feel there are wasted space in the area designed to hold the camera body - it is way too big, as well as the depth of the bag actually allows for 2 lens instead of 1.Date published: 2013-09-16

Canon 1D X compatible? The interior size indicated is 15 cm and the 1D X is more 17-18 cm. Do you advice to use that bag with that body? If yes, will I be able to fit the 1D X and the 70-200 f/2.8 II horizontally? Thanks! If it's of any benefit, my gripped 5Diii with 70-200 2.8 fits just fine through thr side access.Date published: 2015-01-29
I saw this bag and it looks very interesting to have for an all-rounder bag packer. What are the exact sizes of the laptop compartment? And is it big enough to fit a 15,6 laptop (sizes of mine laptop are 37.5 x 26.5 x 4cm)? ThanksHello, The laptop you described would be too large to fit in this bag. An option that would fit your sized laptop would be: http://store.lowepro.com/backpacks?size_lowepro_device=187Date published: 2015-05-15
Hi, i have a 15" non-retina display Macbook pro which is a bit thicker than the current retina model, i was wondering it it will fit on the laptop comparment of the bag. ThanksHello Ricky, Yes, your 15" laptop will fit inside the Transit Backpack 350.Date published: 2014-09-18
Will this bag fit underneath the seat in front of you in an airplane?I have placed this bag in a few airplanes under the seat in front of me with no problems. Though I typically have a tripod and a monopod attached to the side, I remove them before traveling and stow them in my regular suitcase. I do this so as not to have the tripod get caught up in the seat and more importantly, to eliminate a potential injury to someone else should I accidentally knock the bag into them. If I just hit them with the bag, it won't be so bad since it's cushioned. But a tripod on one's head won't feel that good! I have also been able to stuff this bag with 4 lens, two flash units and a RF triggering system, a folding softbox and a microphone with a bunch of cables.Date published: 2014-09-11
