Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good product, bad advise After years of using a backpack I wanted to switch to shoulder bag, so I used the bag finder tool in this website to find the right product for me. I wanted it to carry a D7000 with 18-105 zoom and a 70-300 zoom as a secondary lens. The bag finder suggested me the Messenger 150 and in fact my gear fit in it, but just barely: the D7000 is a little bit higher than the actual opening af the bag, so it still closes but has a strange "hump" when you carry it around. The lateral compartment can hald the 70-300, but still barely does it. there is little space for everything else like filters, GPS and so on. Apart from the small dimension, this is a very good product, great materials and attention to small details. I like it a lot, I would just have bought a slighly bigger one if the Finder had advised me properly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great but just one thing What I like about it is that it doesn't look like a camera bag as you say in the product details. Also the compartment for a tablet is a great thing. What I don't like is the stiffness of the bag, but the rest is ok. I was forgetting, the "maximum security to quiet mode" system of the flap is perfect!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best bag for iPad users with mirrorless systems? I had been searching for a new camera bag and went through the websites for just about every vendor on the market. I had four simple filters: 1) the bag mustn't look like a camera bag. 2) it must be able to take 1 mirrorless camera body, 5-6 primes and an iPad. 3) it mustn't be too bulky (heavy with the gear, sure, but reasonably flush to my body). 4) it must be comfortable. The toss-up was between this bag, the Retrospective 5 and 7, and the Domke F-803. Well, this bag came out tops and here's why: it just does everything I need exceptionally well. Firstly, it comes with five velcro divider panels, so the bag is very customisable (the velcro can stick anywhere on the front and rear panels of the inner compartment). I divide the bag into 6 compartments (3 horizontal, 2 vertical) with the bottom row half the size of the top row. This configuration comfortably fits the following primes: a 21mm, 28mm, 45mm, 90mm and a 135mm with room to spare, if I need a small 6th lens. The smaller lenses go on the bottom row, my camera with fitted lens on the top row in the middle, with the two longest lenses either side. Secondly, it swallows an iPad1 with ease, which can fit on either the inside or outside slots. The Retrospective 5 can't take an iPad or even an iPad Mini. The Domke can, but only on the outside sleeve. Thirdly, I can carry a 500ml bottle of water on one outside pocket, and a flash unit on the other outside pocket. The Retrospectives and Domke do not have outside pockets that can be used in this way. Fourthly, having the choice between a clip or velcro to close the flaps is great. I tend to use the clip with velcro silencer. I switch on the velcro in crowded places. The Retrospective range doesn't have a clip. Finally, the straps on the Retrospectives are superb, and whilst this one is a bit thin, it still does the job adequately for me - even with fully-loaded with 5/6 primes. I've carried it out in the field for 7 hours without a problem. The Domke and Retrospective 5 can't carry this much gear and the Retrospective 7 is just too thick at 7" compared to this bag at 6" and it becomes dumpy once you fill it up. The Event Messenger 150 has become my favourite medium sized bag (for when I don't need a tripod). Downsides? Like one other reviewer said - it's a bit stiff and square, which makes it look a bit corporate and boring, but the olive green helps. Being stiff keeps its shape and relatively flush fit. It doesn't come with a rain protector, so water could theoretically get in from the sides (not happened to me yet). Finally, price didn't really factor into my decision making, but at £33, it's a third the price of the other bags, so it's a bargain.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not perfect, but it'll do for now. I bought this as a bag to grow into! It's certainly got enough space for what I want now - Just my Nikon 5200 and standard lens, but has plenty of space for extras as I get more proficient and get more kit. On the plus side, sturdy and well made with lots of space & pockets for bits and pieces. On the negative side, as other people have said, the material is very stiff which can make it awkward to carry. I wanted a bag that I could carry across me, which I can, but the stiffness of the bag doesn't make it that comfy to do so. For me, the biggest drawback is the placing of the top handle. It's right on the back of the bag, which means it's very awkward to carry as the bag just flips forward the whole time. This is so frustrating that I do find myself using a smaller bag if I have to carry my camera any distance and something that I will definitely check for my next purchase. This is the only reason I wouldn't recommend this bag. Would have preferred it if there was somewhere to attach a tripod to as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Bag! Wonderfully light with just the right amount of storage space. All my gear fits perfectly! The shoulder strap is wide and comfortable. I'm really happy with the choice to remove the inside compartments to fit a few small lenses with my camera. Easy quick access!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile and roomy! I am able to keep my D750 with my 24-70mm and at least two other lenses (depending on their size). I also love the pocket for a tablet, which I can fit my small 11" laptop in. The outside zipper pocket is great for my phone and a couple of cables.

Hey i want to know whether this camera bags is weather proof/ water resistant? i know it's not waterproof but could it handle drizzle and such? thanks

Asked by: jasonk
The Event Messenger 150 is not water resistant. It may be able to handle light rain, but with all fabrics that are not water resistant if the water sits it will penetrate. If you are looking for a shoulder bag that can handle the elements we’d recommend the Nova Sport series as they are equipped with our All Weather cover.
