Fastpack BP 250 AW II is rated out of 5 by 38.Rated 4 out of 5 by BrooksfromTx from My Absolute Go To Bag Love my Fastpack 250 - it's the bag I reach for 99% of the time. My absolute favorite feature of the bag is the fast access side opening - allows you to remove your gear quickly without removing the bag. Additionally, it securely holds a ton of gear (plus jackets and tripods) and fits just about anywhere on an airplane I stuff it. The padded straps and waist belt make it comfortable to carry for long periods. And bonus! For airports, you can easily use the chest strap to hook over luggage handles. Lowepro, please don't ever stop making this bag.Date published: 2017-05-31Rated 5 out of 5 by Steviiiee from The Perfect Bag! This bag is awesome. It's a huge improvement from previous models. The separate top and bottom compartments are great. If you have sharp items in the top, they will never be able to scratch your lenses in the bottom. It's firm and made of really good material. This bag is pretty much the perfect everyday bag. It fits everything you need. I don't see a reason in buying any other bag. It is well priced, great quality and sturdy. The only time I got annoyed with the design of the bag was when I accidentally left the side zipper open on the laptop pocket, and my Mac fell out the side. But to be honest that was my fault.Date published: 2016-10-08Rated 5 out of 5 by Gmax from Really great bag. Great value. I needed a larger bag for a newly acquired full frame DSLR. Always liked the idea of the easy side access for the body and most likely used lens. This feature works great. The bag has a lot of room. I have some old vintage manual lenses, and the bag can hold three of them plus two modern AF lenses, plus quite a bit of extra gear. Even with a carbon fiber tripod, the bag is not too terribly heavy when loaded up. The bag itself is very lightweight and durable.Date published: 2017-05-03Rated 5 out of 5 by hanyo66 from Perfect Adventure Backpack I bought this bag back in August of 2016 and I'm glad I did. After taking a different brand's basic camera bag to the Canadian Rockies and experiencing a decent amount of back pain lugging all my photo gear around on day hikes, I decided to get something new before I spent two weeks adventuring in Oregon a month later. What drew me to this bag were three things: 1. The hipbelts 2. The large upper container 3. The rain cover Being an outdoor photographer and hiking a lot, the hip belts are great to keep a lot of the weight off of my back. The large upper pocket was big enough to put my camping stove, a light rain jacket, and my vibram shoes. The rain cover served its purpose in Oregon with some rain. The other compartments work great. I used both a laptop and my iPad in the tablet sleeve and everything fit nicely. In the main camera compartment, I currently carry: Canon 7D MKii w/ 17-40mm, 10-18mm, 50mm, 8mm, Canon M3 compact camera, GoPro Hero 3+, and spare batteries. I put my 70-200mm in the top compartment most times if I need to take it with me. I like the side flap opening on this bag because I can take just one strap off and swing it around to easily access the camera gear, or put the zippers up under the security flap when travelling so nobody can get into it quickly from behind. If I had to make any recommendations, it would be: make the bottom of the bag hard shell to help it stand up on its own better and to make it slightly more rugged. Overall, fantastic backpack and I'm 200% satisfied with my purchase. Would easily buy again.Date published: 2017-05-11Rated 5 out of 5 by Sky Bruno from Great Bag Liked the previous version and this one is even better. I carry a Canon 5DsR camera with 80-200 lens, a 1.4 extender, a flash, and chargers in the bottom compartment. Though it may not be made for it, I fit another Canon 5D with a 24-70 lens in the top compartment, and a small point & shoot (Canon P120, in a pouch). A 15" computer fits the back slot with an I-Pad as well. A small tripod fits the side pocket. The waist band is removable, a plus since I don't often climb mountains. They've added a helpful strap to hold the bag on top of my other luggage. The bottom outer flap can be used to attach a light jacket at the airport or while hiking. The bag fits under airline seats and overhead compartments. To protect the top camera I've added my own foam since the top seems to be made for non-camera use (thin padding). Padding up there is my only recommendation to Lowepro for improvement. (If they do it, I'll buy that one too.)Date published: 2017-03-14Rated 5 out of 5 by KevinB from My Second Fastpack and this version improves on the first edition This is my second Fastpack. Version 1 I loved and has served me well to Ecuador, the Galapagos and numerous trips to the Pantanal. My gripes with the first version were the waist belt (so I cut it off early on). The Version II makes the belt removable so no raw edges from a cut. Version 1 also did not have a convenient way to stow a tripod, version II solves that beautifully. I do miss the velcro removable pouch found in the top of Version 1, but that's the only downside. Upgraded fabric on Version II is nice also.Date published: 2017-05-30Rated 5 out of 5 by lipowell from Awesome features!!! I bought this Backpack to travel to the Galapagos. I needed something to hold a lot of cameras and lens. I love the easy access on the side to grab the camera quickly and enough room to leave your longer lens attached with room for other lens as well. I need to have room for laptop and some extra clothes and travel essentials. This fast pack 250 AW was a perfect choice. Many compartments, great protection for camera and lens. All your most important necessities safely in one place.Date published: 2017-05-12Rated 4 out of 5 by Ahab from Very versatile Have been using the older version of this for six years now. It works great when you need to carry more than just photo equipment, like water, lunch and an extra jacket for landscape photography. And I love that you don't need to take the backpack off to get the camera out; less hassle, more pictures :-) Only problem is that it will not easily fit several large, full frame lenses, so if that's your thing you should probably bring your gear to the store and test it for yourself.Date published: 2017-05-03
- Question & Answer
How do photographers travel by plane with these packs? Are they allowed on board or are they safe to send to cargo? I can't imagine any photographer wanting to put their camera in cargo. I haven't flown in years so don't know what is acceptable. We highly discourage checking your camera gear recommend you ALWAYS carry your camera gear on board. Most of our backpacks are well within carry-on compatibility sizes and this one is excellent for such a purpose. One of our highly recommended travel+camera bags.Date published: 2018-04-09
Are colors other than black going to be available any time soon? All black bags like this scream "Hey, there's expensive gear inside!" to me. I bought a blue/black older model of this bag back in 2010 and love that. It truly looks like a regular backpack.Hi Steve, The FastPack is only available in black. I hear your need though and I would suggest looking at the Photo Hatchback (for smaller camera kits) and maybe the Flipside Trek for more gear.Date published: 2018-01-10
Is it possible to store a CANON EOS 80D with attached Rode Videomic Pro? Thank youThis bag is meant for fast access via the side compartment. This may be possible but I am not sure this is a good idea. So to be on the safe side I would say probably not.... however, you might be able to reconfigure the pads to work for you.Date published: 2018-01-10
I have a Nikon D5300 and am curious which bag...the 150 or 250 will work with my camera.i will use it for travel and hiking. ThanksEither pack will work. The 250 will accommodate a longer lens attached.Date published: 2017-12-21
Hi, will this bag accomodate my 5DIII with attached 100-400 lens plus 1.4 extender, and 2 other EF lenses? The 1.4x extended would add too much length for this pack to accommodate.Date published: 2017-12-21
The depth of this bag (10.24" - 26cm) is larger than most airlines' stated acceptable carryon limits according to their formal policies (either 8 or 9 inches - 23-25 cm, depending on carrier), yet is marketed as acceptable as a carryon. Why?In use this pack can usually compress the needed few cm to meet most airlines carry-on guidelines. I've traveled frequently with a similar-sized Fastpack 250 "original" and always been able to store it under the seat in front of me.Date published: 2017-11-30
The strap on the side that one might use to strap in a Tripod, or in my case a GoPro on a Gorilla, is it possible to get replacements for that? I lost mine the first trip I took this bad on.Please contact us at email@example.com for more information.Date published: 2017-09-27
