Photo Sport BP 300 AW II is rated out of 5 by 23.Rated 3 out of 5 by MountainWanderer from Decent Pack with a Price Tag too high The bag is relatively durable and fits either my DSLR or 35mm SLR nicely, a rain jacket and a few other items. The water bottle holder on the side is rather frustrating, as fitting a 1L Nalgene (very common water bottle) in is a tight squeeze. The hydration pocket is also another feature that needs work, as a filled hydration bladder causes the pack to bulge uncomfortably into your back. I bought this pack for light mountain hiking day trips and it fits the bill, but I feel like a non-camera daypack with a camera case would work better for a lower price tag and yet still maintain all the features of the PhotoSport II.Date published: 2016-05-16Rated 2 out of 5 by TAK1 from Missing one critical feature I just received the Photo Sport BP 300 AW and while I liked the feel/layout of the bag, it was missing one critical feature. The interior of the camera compartment was not fully lined with fabric to allow attachment of the Velcro divider (it is only in place in two strips). This makes it impossible to configure and fully utilize the space for a camera+lenses. I have used Lowepro bags for over 15 years and this is the first time I have seen something this poorly executed regarding a key feature of a camera bag. I will be returning it an looking for other options.Date published: 2017-06-25Rated 2 out of 5 by Mojo from Still not perfect. In general it's a great backpack, but it has some disadvantages... 1. The back tends to collapse, since the back is not stiff enough. This gives me more pressure on my lower back. 2. It is extremely hot to wear. Don't know why Lowe don't combine it with Lowe Alpline (with airzone) - that would solve both the collapse above and the warm back. 3. Pocket in the belt is way to small - can't fit an iPhone - again the Lowe Alpine has bigger pockets and easily fits an iPhone. Hope Lowe will fix my suggestions above in a forthcoming "300 AW III" ;)Date published: 2016-06-30Rated 4 out of 5 by Mubetta from Perfect for Hiking! I bought this for day hiking for Colorado and it was great! I fit my camera, extra lens, and tripod on the side. The top part of bag has plenty of space and i was able to accommodate some other personal items. i recently took this bag as a carryon for a trip to Mexico and it was perfect. i fit so much, but it didn't look like it, so it's airport friendly. I like the side compartment for the camera, but it is still takes some work to get your camera. that's my only downside - not best for quick access.Date published: 2017-01-19Rated 5 out of 5 by Shikari from The Perfect one for Traveler and Casual Hiker Lowepro is a Brand am using for years. Not only in USA but during my photographic travel journey in India and Thailand - Lowepro is my only dependable bag maker. this is my third Lowepro and 1st purchase in America. Lowepro is one of the most recognized and ubiquitous names in the world of camera bags. The reasons for this are aplenty, but in the simplest terms, it’s because Lowepro consistently puts out affordable, hard-working bags year after year. Design & Comfort From top to bottom, back to front, the bag is designed to be as comfortable as possible. It weighs an acceptable 3.30 lbs and features some Lowepro-specific technologies to keep me comfortable and my gear safe. The section of the bag that holds my main camera gear uses Ultra Cinch, Lowepro’s proprietary mechanism for tightening up and loosening the padding that holds my gear in place. Above the section that houses camera gear is a spacious top-loading compartment that can easily store all required small hiking material, cloths , foods etc. But for me I put my DJI Mavic Pro, Mavic Pro Controller, Battery Charger for Mavic, Camera with Extra battery and GoPro Hero 4 Black and its all required accsories. Behind the ActivZone back panel, you'll find a clever little pocket Tharp can hold up to a 2-liter reservoir of water and features a small hole that you can guide a hose through to one of the shoulder straps - but i use this same place for my iPad. On the front of the bag, there are two loops for mounting tripod or for Hiking pole - which is a nice idea. Apart from that another proprietary design & important feature of the Photo Sport BP 300 AW II is its ActivZone suspension. It’s padded with channels to allow for air circulation. It works great. Final Words Ultimately, for me,its the perfect Sport Backpack to carry my Nikon D7200, Nikon 18-140mm & Nikon 70-300mm along with DJI Mavic Pro Drone with its controller and GoPro Hero 4 Action camera with accessories. I love my Photo Sport BP 300 AW II – it’s almost the perfect bag. It fits just the right amount of gear and I find it very comfortable to wear all day fully loaded, and use for travel. The Sporty backpack makes it easy to access everything while on the go, yet keeps everything secure while in a wilderness. Lowepro have again made a well-designed and well-constructed, quality backpack. There’s much to like about it, from the quick-access camera gear section in the bottom to the small but useful selection of pockets and specially the all-weather protection. You can not go wrong with this awesome one.Date published: 2017-05-08Rated 1 out of 5 by Telopea from Bring back the predecessor. I have the previous model of this Photosport pack And have given it a real pounding over many rough walks in the Blue Mountains (Australia). I also have the latest version as the grey pack is a bit tattered. I have lost more bits in a few walks than I have in years. Eye-cups, lens caps etc. Stuff just falls out of this pack. It is too small for a Nikon DSLR with just abut any lens. With some wet weather gear and an extra lens the pack turns into a barrel. Too narrow, hot. A real shame as it looks great and is well made.Date published: 2016-11-30Rated 4 out of 5 by JSBWT10 from Almost Perfect! I bought this bag a few days before a trip to Yellowstone National Park, and I am so glad I did. I shoot with a Canon 7D Mark II which fit (without the battery grip which isn't a deal breaker for me) in the quick access pocket. As someone who digs around for stuff in my bags, this side pocket/case area was perfect for me. The rain cover releases and covers easily, and I was able to fit an 18-135mm lens on the camera, as well as a small 10-18mm in the side area, as well as a 150-600mm sigma in the outer middle pocket. (A bit tight but it worked). Straps distribute the weight wonderfully. I was a bit worried about putting a camelbak bladder in the small compartment but it worked fine all week so just make sure your water doesn't leak before you stuff it in... Goodluck!Date published: 2016-10-06Rated 5 out of 5 by Brendon from Great active bag I have about 5 of Lowepro bags from rollers to photo runners and I chose this for the specific task of overnight mountain bike trips. I had the previous Sport Pro 30l AW bag and this was an upgrade from a design issue that Lowepro addressed. That bag had a plastic shank between the bag and your back that "bowed" inwards when the bag was filled. This pushed in on my lower back and actually caused an abrasion that took weeks to heal. This updated version has added padding above and below exactly where I had this issue. Design and build of it is rugged and spot on. Love the bag, the fit is perfect for being active with a narrow design and balanced weight distribution between hips and shoulders. You can really cinch it down progressively to keep it from being tossed around on your back. This was helpful especially on overnights when you use up food and water and need a tighter fit again. The padded area is designed for a slimmed down kit, I usually take my Nikon d750, an 85mm 1.4 and either a 50mm 1.4, or a 20mm 1.8. My only gripe comes from it's size decrease of 5L to a 25L bag. For my use the previous 30L was perfect for a fast and light overnight adventure. This one has me hanging some items on the outside which isn't ideal for descending on a bike. I have a pic of me using this bag after an overnight in Whistler BC, and one of the previous Sport Pro 30l that helps show the range of gear it accommodates.Date published: 2017-05-30
