Pro Roller x200 AW is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 19.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from A "Good" Bag This bag fits everything I need to pack, the interior is a great design and it fits in overhead compartments without any problem. I am not sorry I bought this bag however, There are a couple of ergonomic issues I have with the bag. 1) I find the two button design on the telescoping handle awkward to raise up and down, and there is too much "play" in the handle itself once extended. 2) When the bag is "full" and there is a lap top in front pocket the bag becomes a bit front heavy . Would I recommend this bag, Yes. I own a good many Lowepro bags and will continue to stay a customer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a spacious bag I really like the x200 for several reasons. It is just big enough to fit all of my gear and then some. I like being able to put my 80mm-200mm upright instead of lying it down. The new inside panels adjust with the lens size and are easy to move around. One of the features I really like about the pro roller series is the lock. My x100 has a wire type lock that allows me to lock the bag to objects and deter any would be thieves. I shoot with confidence knowing the bag is secure. This NEW lock is simply a TSA lock that closes the zipper. There is no way to lock the bag to objects. I will definitely be looking for a way to rig a similar feature to my new bag. Besides that, it is a great bag.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Overall a TOTAL downgrade from the previous X200 This product was supposed to be an improvement to the X200 That LowePro Previously carried, Unfortunately it seems that its quite the opposite! GONE are the organizational labeled pockets for SD Cards and pens, GONE is the nice looking front Tripod handle POOF Gone The only thing that makes this bag a camera bag is the divided inner pockets, Everything else just looks like a cheap piece of old luggage!!! It looks like LowePro has focused on saving money on manufacturing and removed all the unique parts of the bag and going with style that is as bland as humanly possible. The GIANT pockets on the inside door? Where exactly do i put my SD cards now? Am i left to purchase miniature bags to keep all my small items inside because Lowepro thinks its an "improvement" to replace nice soft pockets, With giant grey pouches? SIMPLY TERRIBLE, Try to find one of the OLD X200 Series in a store or at BH Photo! Because This "New for 2014 edition" is a TOTAL DOWNGRADE

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It has lived up to my expectations I have owned this bag for over 5 months. I traveled with it a few times but waited until I encountered the real reason I bought this product to write a review. I just took a trip to the Keys and on the short hop flights out of my local airport, I encountered the CRJ200. This airplane has the smallest overhead bins of any aircraft in the airline fleets. They told me I would have to green tag my bag. I said there was no way they were going to throw my camera equipment in the cargo bay. So before the attendant's eyes I unzipped the inner backpack shell, zipped up the cover on the outer shell and let them green tag that. The attendants were amazed by the transformation. I was able to just fit the inner backpack shell into the overhead and everyone was happy, especially me. This roller holds my Nikon D800 with grip and another Nikon body. I also carry with me a large assortment of lenses including a 28-70, 28-300, and the Tamron "Big Ron" 150-600. I also carry an assortment of chargers, batteries, cards, tools, & flash. It all fits nicely. It took me a while to reconfigure all the internal dividers the way I needed them, but everything has proven to travel safely the way I configured it. I still have several smaller camera bags that I use when I get somewhere but I will throw the roller into the car trunk and pull out of it what I need from there. I am please with the quality of this bag. And above all, I am glad I am able to always get all my equipment onboard an aircraft with me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great upgrade with a few caveats The original Lowepro x200 rolling camera bag was one of my favorite purchases in recent years; so much so that a few friends and colleagues purchased the bag for themselves as well. After years of daily wear and tear (and no fault of Lowepro), I was forced me to retire my 4-5 year x200 and upgrade to the newer, upgraded version - the x200 AW. My first impressions were mixed - I didn't know how they could improve it. But I learned that improvements come with a few detractors. - The new wheels: these are 100 times better than the old ones. The new wheels and wheel infrastructure are more robust and appear to be a solid unit (rather than two components), and roll much smoother. - Front laptop compartment: not a fan. For some reason the front compartment that hold a laptop (appears to be) much smaller than the old. But my biggest concern is that it doesn't zip closed. Oddly, it's a top-loaded pouch and is exposed to the elements when outdoors. I suppose that's what the "AW" in the name is for and the pop-out cover fixes that. Not really into that idea, personally. - Main gear compartment: Somehow, it looks like it's the same size, but the new dividers are strangely sized and don't fit together as easily as the previous model. I got everything to fit, but it's a little unintuitive. To that point: I also don't see how I can fit two DSLR w/grips into this bag. The older bag was symmetrical and I could fit one on each end in the upright position. I have now converted to one DSLR w/grip and one DSLR w/out grip. The DSLR w/o grip has to be put in on it's side in order to fit. There may be another way, but it doesn't seem to work as easily. - Internal handle rail: oddly, the interior gear compartment wraps around the handle rails inside and is not a flat bottom when loading the gear. It looks like you're getting more space and is deeper, but it actually ended up being a weirdly uneven surface to load gear into and smaller items to fall into and shift around in the bag under the lenses/cameras/etc. That may be why it comes with two small accessory bags. Overall, despite these new changes and oddities in design, it's still one of the best bags I could ask for. Rolls nicely, fits my gear (mostly) well, and is the gold standard for to trust my gear with. Thanks Lowepro!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smooth roller Smooth rolling is the new X200 AW's best feature. The handle is substantial, making the X200 AW great for navigating through airports. The wheels are large and don't stick in small cracks, like with elevators and concrete sidewalks. I also like the new one-piece top. My old Lowe Pro has a two-piece top. (I think the thinner top design will be easier on the zipper, which is what failed on my older roller and put it out of use.) The back of this top has four zippered compartments that I use for my cords, downloader tools, and compact flash cards. The bottom of the case inside is ribbed, not flat.. One simply moves around Velcro backed walls to create different sized compartments to secure gear - lenses, cameras, flashes - so they don't move around and are cushioned and don't bang into one another. Two zippered bags come loose inside the case to slip into a custom compartment. In one bag I store batteries and the extension cord for the charger of my Nikon D4. In the other bag I store the “feet” for my four Nikon Speedlights and other small items. A pouch on the outside top of the new case holds my computer without using a zipper. I just slide in the computer, job done. On top of this pouch is a zippered pocket that holds my I-Pad Air. With my computer and I-Pad Air loaded, my case is apt to fall over from an upright position. The case fits in the overhead bins on Southwest Airlines flights. Overall, I really like this case. I had switched to a four-wheel camera case for a couple years. I am very pleased to be back with a Lowepro case. Two wheels means I have to tilt the case to roll. However, the big wheels mitigate the weight. I load up the X200 AW and the case rolls with ease. Currently, my case is full with the following gear: Nikon D4 with 24-70mm 2.8 lens attached 80-200 Nikkor 2.8 14-24 Nikkor 2.8 28-300 Nikkor 3.5-5.6G Nikon SB-700 Speedlight Nikon SB-700 Speedlight Nikon SB-800 Speedlight Nikon SB-910 Speedlight Nikon MH-26 Battery Charger & Cord Nikon SS-100 Soft Case fitted with (3) SW-14H Diffusion Domes (3) SZ-3FL Fluorescent Filters (3) SZ-3TN Incandescent Filters (4) AS-22 Speedlight Stands (4) Pocket Wizard TT5’s (1) Pocket Wizard TT1 (1) Pocket Wizard AC-3 controller (6) Compact Flash Cards (2) Downloader tools (6) USB cords (36) AA Batteries (4) 77mm filters (6) Apple battery chargers

Rated 1 out of 5 by from A Major step back This Roller is a major step back of it's predecessor. Mine is half a year old, and the elastics neoprene front part has already holes, as it less strong than nylon, and typically tears up much easier than heavy fabrics. To clarify, part of the front is heavy duty nylon, part is neoprene, which by the way looks bad too. Worst of all, they constructed the rear part of the backpacker new, and moved the center of gravity forward to the front side. This makes the the Roller front heavy and it you have a larger notebook in the front pouch it flips over on the front. This means either you hold the trolley handle all the time or you find yourself elevate the roller over and over again form the ground where it lays on the front sind like a bug with the feet up. I a traveling for my living, This is not the way to build such gear. Thumbs down. One more thing... CAUTION! The Roller has a Zipper on it's backside. This is the side it lays on when you open the top. The zipper will damage the surface of your floor. There are severe scratches on my wood floor caused by the zipper. Lowepro should be held responsible for that kind of damage

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to handle, protects everything and Very versatile! I use this bag for both studio work and commercial work; sometimes even to use as a base in the back of my truck when shooting outdoors. Its very easy to handle, and the various small access pockets both inside and out allow for many ways to carry whatever you have. The roller handle is sturdy, and this entire bag could be used as a single carry-on and fits in the overhead. The internal pockets has plenty of room for memory cards, business cards and the laptop compartment protects your gear very nicely. After putting all of my gear in I can lay down jackets, or reflectors on top of everything and still close the bag fine. highly recommend for those that have a fair bit of gear to carry but don't need a BIG-BIG bag to transport.

My video camcorder dimensions are 19.5 x 17.3 x 39.2 cm (7-11/16x6-13/16x15-7/16 in). How do you calculate the internal dimensions? For the depth(16cm) did you calculate only size of “walls” or there is some more space between bag zippers and front cover?

How do you set the lock on x200 aw

Asked by: Carl
As mentioned in the supplied instructions, you need to set to the default combination (0-0-0), press the small round rivet like part using a pin, set to the new combination, and then follow that up with pressing the lock release button. Your new code would have been set. If you decide on changing the code later, you can do the same process again, only this time, you will need to start off with your previous working code instead of 0-0-0.

Is the Lowepro X200 Roller suitable or permissible on international flights?

Asked by: charlesjaggers
I have had issues on a few flights with my old 200. So I bought a x100 and have had only a couple of close calls. I simply refuse to check it in. The x100 fits under the seat in front of you. The issue is not the size . the issue is since the airlines are charging to check in luggage, everyone brings their carry on. Most people do not know how to put a luggage in the overhead bin. It fills up and the only place left is under the seat in front of you. It also depends on the size of the plane. While the 200 should be suitable the 100 is a more sure bet. Of course if they ask you to check in your bag you can always take out the back pack and check in the empty bag.
